Episode aired on 30th August 2012 - The Challenge by his Biwi
Agreed RK was getting bored of his compliant Biwi - Madhubala Rishab Kundra. And he does what he has to get back the original Madhubala Shamsher Malik. He pierces her sore points, her family member, this time her mother. He expected her to get hurt and angry and it was there, the fire in her eyes.
However what intrigues me in understanding RK's twisted and closed character is that, while inwardly it was his plan to turn the compliant Madhubala to a defiant Madhubala, in remaining consistent to his character, he should have got mad at Madhubala, the moment she challenged him as Madhubala Shamsher Malik. For the challenge could also have been given as Madhubala herself. Afterall She has been his Madhubala ...Ahaan ever since she started being interesting and exciting to him !!!! In her defiance Madhubala had removed the bestowed precious collar tag Madhubala Rishab Kundra. So RK should have atleast shown an acknowledgement to Madhubala that he has registered her removal of his name tag; as equivalent of her defying her marital status with him and he should have sent out his warning as usual. Then Madhubala could have continued with her challenge or harangue.
The dialogue writers seem to have forgotten this characteristic trait of Rishab Kundra in the efforts to turn the clash of the two titans more interesting. A man who will not allow his ego get deflated in any manner, how is he allowing Madhubala to remove his name at his home in front of the other two unwanted kins of his.
I get it that this drama in front of the step-kins was to induce anti-RK elements into commencing the purpose of their existence/creation; to bring on downfall of RK. However I am still not convinced that truly RK would have let Madhubala go scot free with identifying herself as Madhubala Shamsher Malik, her pre-marriage name, while still being married to him; as his; Rishab Kundra's; whole and sole property.
Episode aired on 3rd September 2012 - The Drinking Spree to forget the pain
Agree. Infact his act of dousing himself in drinking is what made me feel his intense pain about his predicament. The way he called Bitto ji and asked him to help him in getting drunk in order to deliver something his consciousness wouldn't want to remember at all, makes us see how 1) he would never have his past raked 2) how that past is the achilles heel of his RK persona.
It was sad to see that though he believed that drinking would help him get the business of apologizing and his effort to protect his past with relative ease; it was not turning out easy for him. He was registering everything around him, his family, the chawl people, the women, and what was at stake ! To me it seemed, no one could have been more conscious than he was inspite of all the drinking. I can only say, all that drink was instead keeping him focussed on what he was determined to do as his RK ego otherwise would never let him do it. Seems RK has become resistant to alcohol induced inebriation or trance. That makes me think, wouldn't he be a lover of various drugs ?
I wonder, how he drove as driving in inebriated state is beyond mind control. And I am sure, the show producers stuck to safe driving ethics and therefore did not choose to show it. If this was a film, the car driving scene would have been interesting to watch.
This show is definitely an A rated show for me. Not for Kids.
Episode aired on 4th September 2012 - His father's Memories
While the drinking spree in yesterday's episode was very painful to watch for not knowing what causes this pain, today, we get to see what is it and why it causes pain to him. It has been an irrecoverable loss to the child and who never came to terms with his loss.
The little boy , who had not even come to terms of what he was going to miss for life, sees his mother as betraying his father's memory by getting herself tied to another man. And that event makes the child completely forget himself and possess his father's memory as his own with sole ownership. It is then the child decides to be a father to his father. The Tiger son sets out to fulfil his father's dreams. So, the secret is out. RK is not Rishab Kundra's dream. RK is Mohan Kundra's dream.
The boy never lived his life. True the mother was right when she said that the boy grew up to be a man "that one night". We are yet to have this flashback of that night in its detail.
But from peer to peer dynamics, Madhubala; though knowingly using incorrect means to serve her end of having RK apologize to her mother for ill-mannered behaviour at the studio, has started the healing process for Rishab Kundra. The Boy has achieved all his father ever wanted to be...to win. The Boy crazily has kept his father's memory in his care. It was only HIS and no one else's. However, by having the pictures flashed to public, Rishab has once again seen a private loss. While the first time, he could not question or punish God or Fate for taking his father away, he was forced to become a spectator to a drama that he never liked. Then when his mother's marriage made him a lonesome fellow, another disgusting drama for him; he could only react in rage, however that rage was internalized. Now the final drama of betrayal from Madhubala (perceived culprit at this time), he has the freedom and resources to actually question her, punish her, get enraged and actually vent his anger on; because unlike God and Mother, afterall Madhubala is just a Madhubala -ahaan ! for him.
All in all, it was good to see the boy walking out of the closet..finally !
Episode aired on 6th September 2012 - Is RK a Gentleman ?
It makes me wonder! Is RK a gentleman ?
He hates his mother, but so far he has not disrespected her except once and I will come back to it later. He only hurts the mother in such a way that only the mother and son understand what kind of equation is he trying build in his hurt. To everyone else, the act is unkind and something not expected from a son to a mother.
Now coming to that one streak of disrespect I saw. I once saw him respecting his mother, when she made her entrance and called his name and he stopped the bottle-breaking drama that instant. And I saw him disrespecting her the other day in his drunken doused soul of cringing in pain at being blackmailed by his foe MB to apologize to her mother. He yelled "Chodo!!!" and jerked away her hand with a sense of disgust at him touching her. That was the time, his mask of restraint fell of his face. I wonder if it happens often like that between mother and son.
His mother said, he was a soft person. So does he have the remnants of that being ?
The guy, the superstar RK in fact a charming and sophisticated guy. No wonder women drool over him.
But then his gentlemanly act, does it also percolate from superstar RK image onto the actual Man RK in his dealings ? Mind it I am not talking about the boy or the buried Rishab Kundra.
I believe we have had no hints yet, how he behaves with females other than female fans and Madhubala - his junoon. I only saw his interaction with that journalist and that was pretty sophisticated if not gentlemanly. And what do we expect in that kind of interaction. It has to be that way.
So I really wonder. But then what is to wonder ? A man who warns his foes before actioning something, a man who cares about trust, commitment, promises, deceit, lies, empty words, real words, care, ties and ultimately his larger than life RK ego, he definitely needs to feel tall and great at all times and help those who seem weak and in need of help.
A gentleman always puts his best foot forward because he has the resources and means to let his gentleness serve upon the needy. So is RK. A weak Madhubala walking in rain or anticipating her breaking point and so the great RK waits on her like the gentleman. A beast he is but is definitely the tiger and not the hyena.
RK - Honour and Pride. The elements of his persona, his ego.
yeah! Honour and Pride. The elements of his persona, his ego.
that's what he keeps on impressing on us. And that's what his Dad asked him to be.
That's why he keeps on warning or alerting people on what may come upon them. It gives him twin pleasure
1) Proud of his achievement
2) Satisfaction that he kept his word (honour).
I like this guy. Very much. Intense he is and he has sucked out the meaning of every word, in and out and lives in truth in all its honesty.
And even as we know that he may not have asked MB if she was instrumental in publishing the pics or assess her actual capabilities at getting something published, I do like to think that he is punishing for her audacity in blackmailing him and her treading on the path that he walks on. It is dangerous and certainly not an innocent or virginal path, but MB set herself on that path. The word blackmail runs deep.
RK was already disappointed with her at that juncture. And she did not even answer his question, how she got the pictures. She just ambivalently answered him. Do soorton mein Ek, when you say sorry to my mom Do) The pics get published. I was thinking on that day, why the writing was so ambivalently contrived and later why RK does not pursue the question. May be he thinks scapegoat or opportunist that she has become, his emotional vulnerability truly had become scapegoat on that day.
A king needs to take action of judging based on the result he sees in front. And like the king he sets out to punish the visible culprit even if it had been just a scapegoat.
Episode - 7th September 2012 - The Doctoring Husband vis-a-vis The Hurt Man
I just watched the episode. It was cute but at the same time baffling. I couldn't get this man.
But then I am so drawn to him. I guess even Madhubala feels the same. She doesn't know what to make of him, the man who seems to know her in and out. True he baffled her the moment she saw him in her room with the potion. And then it was baffling as he goes about to deliver his doctor, caretaker act. The sneeze saved her from totally getting enticed with his kindness act. But the penultimate baffling was the gist of "tumhare saason pe bhi mera haq hai" Ro kar leti, hans kar leti ho, tadap ke leti, gidgidati hui leti or yaa rok thi ho yeh soch tue ki ab kya leke aayega RK tumhari zindagi mein !! OMG !!! Everything is about him. Each and every word. True how hard he tries to be the megalomaniac before MB, his self-appointed adversary ?
Now let's cut through his exterior act, which actually is so loveable that we may never feel like going to see his interior. Nevertheless, the interior has to be seen.
What was the need for him to go and make the potion by himself and get it by himself. May be the pleasure of interaction with his adversary draws him in. An adversary who said sometime back in the day that she hates him and cannot breath the air that is shared by him too. So that's why the taunt "saans ko rok leti ho" Okay a small game concocted by him. Become the instrumental one in clearing the obstruction of the breathing process. If successful, another win for him.
His so called devilish thoughts, are they even coming across as devilish ? Even if he is trying his 200% ? No. Not at all.
First the potion
Being a woman, knowing my kitchen and knowing few men like my brother and my husband, my thoughts linger on the execution itself of making the potion. The RK who may never have sauntered into the kitchen, how did he find the honey, the ajwain from all those kitchen cabinets. Did he wake up the servants and ask them to provide the ingrediants. Secret !!! Suspense!! We may never know. But I am happy to know that he is intelligent enough to know the scientific term of cold and then he knew the NUSKHA to cure Jhukhaam. Isn't it cute ? Yes, it is. Inspite of n number of negative traits, the smooth execution itself of getting something done from the kitchen is adorable and attractive. One would just get cured in those thoughts itself.
Second the act of coaxing and convincing.
Wants MB to trust that the potion is drinkable. So what should he do so that she trusts him. Yes, give her something that she won't believe. Zeher+Acid+Drug ka mixture followed by Honey+Ajwain+Hot water. Pee lo Aaraam milega. MB defenses are all attacked and she just looks at him. Thank goodness, the sneeze prevails and she cuts herself of. But then, in these moments of coaxing, how desperate was his face that she believe that the mixture was good enough to consume. Who can now say he is being devilish ? It was more like convincing her that he is still a bit of something that she can play with unlike in the day when she said "Bas RK. Bas. ab aur nahin"
Third the forceful giving of the drink
As the fiery MB mellows down baffled with his performance, RK does what he likes, the forceful feeding. He must be super happy. An achievement for him. Knew MB would not take it and yet he made her take it. And yet how can you call this a devilish act even if he is playing it ?
Four - the revelation of his thoughts.
Tumhaare Saason par bhi mera haq hai. Man! Why so scared of people acknowledging your kind act. Why to twist that truth and serve it as something else. Clearly the mask of strong persona is falling off and anyone can see how contrived it looks when wants to disguise his act of kindness.
Why RK ? Why ?
Now let me rewind something that he did after he had the pleasure of beating the pulp of MB's sacrifice for the love of her father.
He had left her broken and a wondering statement of how low he can get each growing moment. It hurt him and yet he disguised it with his smirk and I am watching you' attitude.
But then where did he go? I thought he would go back to his mansion. NO! he goes back to the memories with his father, with which he started the day. He goes to a place and remembers and cries out his heart at what happened in the morning. In this privy moment, there is NO MB. Its only him and his father.
His mother comes and tries to explain MB's so called act, he lashes out at his mother that she need not belittle his self-respect, his esteem before THAT GIRL. Oh! My My! in those moments, MB was no Biwi, no dushman and only woh/us Ladki. She became nothing for him. Isn't this then the sanest moment of his?
Friends, I am truly baffled. If MB is merely Woh Ladki, how come he is befriending the girl giving her all kinds of adjectives like Dushman and Biwi.
- There is that boy who is living his father's dreams. - Subconscious Self
- There is that man who has achieved what his father wants and keeps on playing the Superstar act every public moment of his life. - Conscious Self
- And there is that life which started expressing itself now, to find company, to find a peer, to play. And he found one "That Girl" - Unconscious Self
To delve a little on "that girl" factor as it has come up in the screenplay, as I got stuck with this.
Madhubala is that girl to Rishabh Kundra in his most sanest personality although frozen in time.
Madhubala was a Madhubala Ahaan to Superstar RK - the most unreal personality, the actor at all times.
MB hurt the superstar's ego and he made her his adversary and the vendetta started on to show who is the master, the god in RK world.
MB hurt the little boy trapped in time and like a boy, he was crying and only requested his mother not to expose him and his self-respect before that girl. That girl here seemed as something that RK wouldn't want to be associated with.
RK would not anyone to be close to him so much so that it may have consequences upon his frozen memories. His problem is he doesn't want any dilutions happening and he starts judging consequences in a very morbid fashion...like calling it murder. This is where I felt that the boy though thinking morbidly about having been murdered, yet had not given weightage to the individuality of MB by addressing her as Madhubala and just made everything impersonal about Madhubala and called her "that girl"
Or maybe its the worse form of disgust when we call a person whom we know as "that nameless thing or form". Here this is my personal experience. I have felt it very distasteful and disgusting to call out the name for a person that had deeply hurt me and disappointed me.
I am saving my curiosity for the future on the context of "self-respect" used here as I am perturbed and intrigued how revelations will undermine his self-respect ?
Episode: 13th September 2012 : The Ignoble Deeds of the Monster
kya pata MAHABHARAT KI VENUE change ho rahi ho
Those were the words from the wise man Bittuji when he was asked by Radhaji what was the occassion of the party. True. How can he trust his chief to be a peace timer ? And now that chief's enemy has started showing her colors, how can he even imagine that peace will prevail even if it be a semblance of party amidst society's prominent people and hosted by eminent personality.
That put aside, I wanna talk about the beast himself. Jackie posts are about the Beast Palace. Madhubala calls her RK as the "jaanwar". While I took the word in poetic and dramatic sense respectively, today for the first time, I feel like analysing Madhubala's jaanwar as seen from my eyes.
Agree. Who marries like that, making a mockery of rituals. Definitely not a jaanwar. Someone highly knowledgeable about rituals and yet making a blasphemy out of it. An impertinent man. A Bad-tameez. But was it a blasphemy in Rishabh Kundra's eyes ?
No. Where there is no faith, there is no blasphemy.
Who makes his wedded wife, a servant and that too amongst the god-fearing, moral society ? Not a Man of the World. Won't his social prestige be at stake ? Then who is Rishabh Kundra ? Is he not a homo sapien, a social animal ? Is he above society and its conventions ? As an actor how much can he influence society and how much can he dictate. or put it correctly, how can he remain alone ? What sustains him ? Why everyone fears him ? Just because he has thugs waiting on him who can beat people to pulp at his express command ? So what is this being ?
Satan - No. I have not seen him conjuring evil.
Animal - Definitely doesn't seem human animal. And any other animal ? Well, all animals of the jungle follow certain rules including the lonely cats like the lion, knowing its territory, its preys, and its smells.
Then what is he ?
When did Madhubala call him jaanwar ? I remember her saying on the next day of marriage when RK drags her with him from the hospital. I understood she said it out of spite. But actually I never bought it. Because in that situation, RK was not a jaanwar, he was a "Beraham", a merciless, pitiless man. If Madhu wanted him to call Jaanwar, she needed to specify which kind of jaanwar. Else I am confused man! which animal to pick.
And now as the antics continue between the Miyaan-Biwi, today's ploy from RK to turn her Biwi into a waiter, it was totally to my distaste. I was like which husband does that. Biwi ki izzat gayi to gayi, Miyaan ki izzat ki bhi dhajjiyaan ud gayi !! As a husband RK is equally losing respect when he is making fun of his wife.
Definitely this man is not a Insaan; human being.
Definitely not a jaanwar; animal ?
Then what is he ?
You know what the closest I could find is the Hindu mythological characters:
Rakshas, Shaitan, Haivan
Monster, Ogre, demon etcetera etcetera
Madhubala fears this monster. We can see that on her face when the RK monster roars.
But she didn't give a proper adjective to him.
And as for today, in today's venue of Mahabharat (RK's home rather than Kurukshetra), as the ammunition changed to flirtatious behavior, amour, effrontery from the so called "Jaanwar" RK towards his Madhubala in his so famous Madhushala, I couldn't make heads and tails of the specimen that RK is.
He was behaving, he was performing, he turned disgusting...all in all, Madhubala's un-specified jaanwar today seemed a Bandar to me. A menacing monkey.
Have you been tormented by a monkey ? I have been. Its scary.
Shridevi
P.S: The episode continues tomorrow and so my analysis will continue tomorrow as well.
Episode: 14th September 2012 : The Vindictive Man
OMG!!! What a vindictive man !!!!!
The guy (RK) must be a super chess player. Chitt bhi meri, patt bhi meri. Either/Or consequences in his favour as far as his game with MB was concerned.
MB challenged that she will fulfil wife's duties.
RK needed to break this. 3 attacks on his wife and he succeeds in making the whole subject of conjugal duties as something obscene and unthinkable. He basically stabbed MB's heart by ripping apart her belief that she can hope something in the role of the wife.
His win is not in the fact that he made MB lose her dignity. No Madhu never lost her dignity, she infact won her case. What was RK's win, he made the fight worthless for MB. He made her feel that she should not have thought of becoming the dutiful wife.
The attacks.
Attack 1
So RK openly accused her in front of everyone and made it look like he was the suffering husband and MB not obliging with his conjugal rights. "jaanta hoon Nazdikiyaan kamzor kar gayi. Abhi chhoote hi bhagogi" Which honest women would accept that accusation baseless fact as it was ! So she had to keep her ground before all the people as it was her fight to get the wife's rights.
Attack 2
And RK doesn't like this response, for he has to make yet another attack to win the game. His opponent was giving a fair fight. And this time what is his attack ? Hit under the felt. Go for the same conjugal rights but more towards the sexual relationship. He does a close dance and his wife defends herself before everyone that she is not the one who is not honoring it.
Attack 3
So how does RK cheat now ? Say aloud, another accusation. You can publically be close to me, but in private, you won't do that ! Making her some kind of liar or opportunist. And since her face was telling it all how unfair he is, how no one would believe it, he defies the world she is part of and strikes her where it hurts, the situation of kiss - miss. What would have been more hurtful, to be kissed by a scorned man or to be spared in scorn ?
Who wins ?
The lone tear swelled in Madhubala's eye because she was consternated at RK's stooping to such low levels to conquer her, to break her. And as the seconds reduced to 1, she had attained the resigned and the moral-call look of "how low you can stoop now?". And that's where RK decides to not kiss, because somewhere MB's gaze ready to be ravaged was not yet vanquished and was still thinking about him and not worrying about her. The eyes had already called RK as some low level scum. That's when RK decides to not kiss as he gets scared of the meaning present in the eyes, RK cannot be scum. But the venom of defeat has to be spit out, so he says "you do not MERIT my kiss". That causes MB to shed the tear as the waiting to be ravaged ended.
The lady collects what is left of her and conducts herself away from the spot in all dignity.
But RK would not want her to get any respite, so he presents a satanic level tormenting thought. Think MB "What would have been more hurtful, to be kissed by a scorned man or to be spared in scorn ? " A gift of personal hell.
One hell of a scene !!!!
RK is well within his character.
RK was planning to humiliate MB. The Tick Tock game is still on. MB knew it and that's why she was reluctant to come to the party. She feared it and came only under the blackmail threat. Bittooji also had an inkling that it may become explosive match anytime. He doesn't trust his boss. So was Kukkuji anticipating the storm.
There is this parallel unconscious longing from Rishabh Kundra who gets besotted to Madhubala. With each win of RK and loss of MB, Rishabh Kundra is also losing himself to MB. RK was pleased that MB finally came down, but Rishabh Kundra lost himself to her beauty and magnificence.
Rishabh Kundra would have come out of this trance in one or the other way. Yesterday it so happened that RK's mommy was instrumental in breaking the trance for the vulnerable Rishabh and soon the powerful RK took over and he was back in form.
Is RK above Society ?
Answer is "RK is not above society". Bittuji more worried about RK's reputation explains.
So RK is right when he calls MB's eyes as black magic. May be RK is an ace, may be is deft at showcasing his best qualities to public. Like they showed to us in his very first conf-call, then while going to jail, the manner and the poise that he maintained.. But with MB near him, he has been a raving mad fellow, totally losing his senses and failing to draw the line between actual decorum and act of decorum so that at least he know where he is actually defying the limits.
At this rate of his down-fall though low-grade actions, agree PDA is going to generate publicity, but will it translate into more contracts from willing producers or losing contracts or work.
Its nigh time, the creatives also show us the impact of RISHBALA story on RK's professional life. When will they show it ? Can I even expect this maturity.
That was one thing.
Now coming to another aspect of the same "Is RK above society ?"
When brutes take over humanity, strangely Mobs enjoy siding with brutes. That is the reason gladiator fights existed, and that continues even now. Again speaking from personal experience. Mobs enjoy every show that caters to the senses, the visuals, the audio...
So the so called society of prominents watched the dance. Out of curiousity, I ask, did no one raise any eyes ? Weren't they disgusted ? Was there no one who was whispering what RK is doing is distasteful. I can hardly expect from Indian society that anyone can actually take a moral stand. Within the real world, we are in a decadent state of humanity and ethics. But did the celluloid atleast maintain the decorum as to what the audience should do ?
I only see the mother (again a family member) concerned for her son's actions, an employee worried about the fall out.
Episode 20th September 2012 - RK - The Boy trapped in Man's Body
Rishu versus RK
This week we saw that RK opened upto Madhubala, just a bit, to tell her how he lost his Dad when he was 12 years old. A day that left the boy confused and shocked beyond any reconciliation. Here he had been enjoying with his Dad and two hours later Rishu loses his father. He sees him hanging by the ceiling.
We got just this much peep. Not more than this. But yet what was relevant piece of info was that Rishabh smothered Rishu that day along with his Dad's funeral and he started becoming RK. He couldn't sleep on that day and ever since was never able to sleep. And later on in his life he took to drinking to beat away his insomnia.
So imagination is wide open. Questions galore on the evolution of RK from Rishu.
How did the kid manage himself into becoming RK?
What was the mother doing ? Was she unable to provide any kind of vent to her son, the much needed vent.
Was the death on his B'day? Per the flashback, Rishab was happy winning the cricket match. That was being celebrated. What if it really happened on his B'day. Terrible day. B'day & D'day, better buried in history as if the day never happened. Then what of his existence ? Existential dilemma and more so when you feel trapped.
If the adult man is drinking now, what was the boy doing to beat sleeplessness condition earlier ? Kind of impractical to imagine that the boy took to drinking then and he was caught by none.
The boy became a responsible man to fulfil his fathers dreams and had killed his childhood to sustain his father's memory. The son vowed to himself that he will make his father proud with his achievements and that became his holy crusade.
Poco/Jackie described the boy/man's state as a medical condition. Here it is in her words.
"Rishabh is trapped in that moment of a 12 year old - he has been under post trauma depression for 17 years and the very fact that he finds denial indulgences to fight this depression makes it a medical condition. "
************
Now if that was not enough for us, this week we also saw, Rishabh Kundra getting fidgety around the bare back of his wife Madhubala. The wife whom he loves to flaunt by holding her waist, dancing with her to a sexy number, he has no shyness when is in absolute state of hate for her or a puppet. But the same wife when seen in respectful manner and not as an enemy, RIshabh Kundra was nervous and he was almost sweating at the difficult dori -tying exercise.
And if that was not a spectacle to watch, we have another mute drama to watch. The Superstar RK whose mouth is never closed and utters bombastic dialogues and taunts and every ready ti yell or scream, he gets tongue-tied when a certain family member Deepali leaves not a moment to seduce him. And she was not even a Siren if you ask me, but our RK had an attack of consternation.
This lead me to conclude that Rishabh Kundra is not a fully sexually developed man and to be more specific. He grew up too fast, leaving gape holes on his psyche. I had this conversation going on with Jackie, FQ and FG earlier, which I am going to paste in my next post.
RK - man trapped in the boy's mind
A collection of thoughts as members discussed throughout the day.
Myself
I feel that Rishabh was so busy turning into RK with all darker forces that he did not have the opportunity of growing up sexually. Sometimes lack of this growth, lack of expression of this energy twists us to something else. We become weak persons and try to hide our weakness.
Kundalini Chakras tell us after Mooladhara,we have Swadhistana and all the other deeper and higher levels of our existential needs. When the boy's growth got rudely interrupted at the age of 12, his body and mind were still living the first two energies.
Not RK , but Rishabh when he tried to tie the dori, he was in a shaken state.
Likewise, when he is being seduced, he is being nervous and jittery.
And because the boy is trapped in man's body and vice versa, the response comes out as comic, confused and yet we see the vulnerability, the lack of knowledge, the lack of skill on that front, the insecurity seeps out.
I must say that while we are getting to have MB-RK in one room through the predator Dipaali's sexual overtures, it makes us happy of the result, but it is not all rosy. I feel for RK who seems so powerful and yet he can become such an easy prey to predators of different kind.
Poco/Jackie (the author of Beast Palace series)
Thank you and this is a WOW take. Hmm, perhaps. Maybe , it easy for him to serenade heroines and women the powerful avatar of Rishabh Kundra , but when it comes down to 'feeling' a woman as Rishabh , he is fidgety and reticent. I mean sleeping with a woman is one thing but feeling her is another altogether. I mean, we have seen it , right? Rishabh has no qualms in touching Maddy anywhere when he is being a villain but the moment that mask falls and he is boyish and vulnerable, his hands clench.
I think Rishabh is sexually evolved but when it comes to connecting emotion and vulnerability to sexuality , he gets cold feet and how.
Myself
Yes Jackie. You got it right. Sexual development is very basic. It has to be regulated into the mental dimensions as well. The emotional connection and security is missing for him. This can be seen from the levels of self-building, bonding with others and social expression and people skills and finally the confidence of what we have. The boy's was protected in his father's company and then his growth stopped. So I am saying he never ever explored the bonding part. If you do not bond how can you know which is adhesive, which is cohesive and which one is repelling. Rishabh's behaviour in the two incidents seemed as if a child seeing a woman's bare back for the first time and then being consternated at some adult trying to do an unthinkable act. So many child-abuse victims tell us that they just let it happen. Why? because the children do not have the mental knowledge that they can react.
As for the past with Dipali...my guess is ..RK was so drunk that he never knew what may have happened or not happened and Dipali uses that info to blackmail him into coercive acts of her choice. Just a guess.
FQ ( Author of the FQnama series)
You mean that like James Dean, RK is a virginpoo? If the writers had that kind of visioning for him, more props them. But i just think they are weak and unplanned and confused as always. The dori reluctance was absurd. And to me, Deepali and he clearly have a sexual history. Knowing her, she probably made it up as RK passed out drunk and then blackmailed her way into his house.
Pippa
I'm 100% sure he's a virgin...remember, he was all a-jitter when attempting to tie Madhu's blouse strings...goes to prove that Deeps didn't get her evil way with him and also explains his lockjaw ailment seeing her slithering about in his bed room carrying the time tested aphrodisiac...a glass of milk
FG (ApplenPeaches) I love to call her Fruity Girl and she too likes it.
She penned her thoughts earlier over a different post titled "the boy is the father to the man"
Didnt RK have a girl friend or someone in the beginning? Did I get that wrong? Was she a girlfriend-in-name-only like Madhu is wife-in-name-only? He must have tied hundreds of dories of his gfs or romanced them onscreen.. Did they just show the two scenes SD was taking about just to show that he feels something when it comes to Madhu and that he is disgusted with Deepali?
FQ again
Oh yes. Me thinks publicist created affairs. Like most affairs in Hollywood, and now, Bollywood too.
My reading is that RK has probably had sex, but never with anyone with whom he connects emotionally. With Madhubala, this is not so. He does not love her, but he knows her and she knows him. I think his sexual encounters are more like ships in the dark. One of these ships is Deepali who followed him and is trying to dock at his harbour ever since.

RK respects his women - AUTHOR - Dovesview
Episode 27th September 2012
He is flawed. He is rude. He is insensitive. He jabs the opponent with words. He kills with his fiery looks. Does he care? Oh, he cares two hoots!
He lives in his world. He needs no one. He has a wall of steel erected around him filled with alcohol to the brim. Nobody dare enter his cave of insanity. He keeps silence, vacuum, and void his company. He swims and drowns in his own power. He is super complacent with his antagonistic life style until when she arrives in his life. An uninvited protagonist to steer the wheel of his life. MADHUBALA!
She pierces his indomitable wall of hauteur. Destiny had planned for them to meet. When they meet there is high current flowing, sparks blinding the eyes, heat melting the stone, but then they stand face to face unfazed. The hatred for each other keeps them kicking.
He hates the women folks in his life. His mother, Mukund's mother, Madhubala, Padmini, ex-GF for reasons. He wants to tear them apart with every breath he takes and he wants to burn them alive with every word he utters. Really? To some extent it is true. But then I see some layers out there.
At the outset, yes. He is ruthless to them. But if we can see through his surface, we can see a different view.
Mother. He hates her for remarrying. He was shattered when his father passed away but then there was still some ray of light in his life in the form of his mother. He held onto it tightly. But then one day the shadow of a monster in the name of a step-father wiped out the light out of his life. He held Radha responsible for this darkness. How could she do this to him? How could she replace another man in his father's place? Did she not think that RK is significant enough in her life? How could she think that there was something missing in her life beyond his presence? The twelve year old's sense of security was worn to shreds. He put an end to one of the most beautiful relationships in his life. But did he want to totally wipe her out? No, although he dearly wants to do it, he obviously can't because all said and done, she is his mother. Deep down he stills loves her and does not bear to see the last of her. Hence he puts up with the bunch of clowns that she gifted him as a step family.
Mukund's mother. She is one of those cheesy characters that he has come across many times in his life and in the film world. All that matters to them is money and they would go to any extent to ruin someone's life to get some pittance in return. For these kind of women, no relationship weighs more than money but then they go stomping about values, rishtas, and culture more than the number of times they breathe. Huh, no surprises that he hates her to the core for ruining Madhubala, although she is his partner in crime. Despite his dislike, he played along to get his work done alright.
Padmini. Hey, wait a minute. How is she related to him and why is he angry with her? Of course he didn't care the hell about her until one day when he started digging into her past to destroy Madhubala. What the heck? The father of Madhubala has two dimensions. Biological and legal. He conceded. Padmini, so you are not very different my mother, are you? You woman all need a man at any given time. I hate you!
Trishna. How can she hurt her sister when she has laid her life at the feet of a beast just to save her father? She is selfish that Madhu spoilt her dreams and career. Did she have one in the first place? He could kill her for making Madhu cry her heart out the other day but then he didn't want to do anything of that sort yet. She is still a sister of his BIWI. he ought to give her that place, at least as of now. <RK thinks> But you are one of those opportunistic girls. Mind you! I will get you pay for her tears one day! None has the rights to make her cry. Bas ek hak hai mera!
Dips – the EX. Ouch.. this is an old pain in a new place. How was he so blind at that age to fall for a vamp? He thought she was his support system when his own mother back stabbed him. He surrendered himself totally to her. He needed something to cling on. Wanted to belong to something or someone. She was the one who felt right at that time. She was also struggling and thought both would race against the tide hand-in-hand and win. Alas what a mistake! She turned out to be the one who forcefully tried to drown him. The wound she caused burnt his heart entirely leaving it sore and numb. No place for love, sensitivity, or empathy anymore. He restrains himself from killing her for a few reasons. All said and done, she was with him at a time when he was struggling. Now she is a part of his so-called family which he is tolerating for the woman who gave birth to him. As long as they don't cross paths, he will let her be. <RK thinks> But baby, of late, you are messing up with me. Rub me on the wrong side and get away with it? No ways. Wait for the Surprise, Surprise!
Madhubala. Ahaan! What is it with this girl? Who is she? She fights the God for the worm Mukund? Has the audacity to put the great RK behind bars? <RK thinks> Oh… give me a break. You made a mistake honey and you will pay for it your entire life. Don't blame me darling. I did make you pay for it and left it at that. Thought I shouldn't be hard on you. There is something about you that ties my hands. Your beauty did sting me. Your arrogance did feed mine. Your fighting spirit entertained me. You touched me deep and hence you sort of belonged to me, so I left a stamp on you to show the world that you are another property of mine. But still I wanted you to move on and leave me in peace. After all you were like a puppy that was innocent, vulnerable, and longing for protection. It is my principle not to hurt pets. I did let you go. But darling you had it coming by leaving my cheeks flaming. What was the necessity? You didn't give me a choice but to own you and ruin you. The count down started. Attention world. She is mine. My WIFE. I can do anything to her. Her happiness, pain, insult, hurt, and everything about her starts with me and ends with me. No body dare try to go close to her. She is my junoon. Woh bus ek hak hai mera!
Madhubala is heating her man's heart of steel. Let's see how much she manages to melt and let it emote. Play on honey, we are with you!
The Peremptory RK before his estranged God-friend Ganesha - Communicating the anger, the loneliness and the longing to taken into his fold
After losing his father to death and mother to second marriage, Rishu turned away from his friend Ganesha for not keeping it together for him when he trusted him with his happiness.
3rd October 2012: The Kabab drama by RK ....by Bhoomi
The kebab drama is obviously a desperate attempt re-assert himself. Someone said a few days ago that it requires strength to accept that you are governed by forces beyond yourself and that is so true here. Rishabh Kundra has bottled up his emotions (which he considers the mark of a lesser man), established himself as the centre of his own universe and feeds his ego by dominating and manipulating others. For such a man to accept anything beyond himself would be equivalent to admitting powerlessness. And power is the only thing that fuels RK now; without it, he is nothing, or so he thinks.
by Bhoomi
@ Chitra - that collapse of faith you mention also applies to his initial loss of faith. Fueled by hurt, he's given up on everything that defined him and now that facade is starting to crack... Whether he believes or chooses to remain a disbeliever, I believe that he will feel better soon, simply because he's communicating his turmoil now.
by Shridevi
Agree Bhoomi. This is what I had felt today. And my 2 cents. If I extend it...what do kids do when they are angry over their parents ? They wait for them to come and coax them, cajole them. And when that happens all is fine. What happens when sometimes parents do not come at all for cajoling. The child gets hurt, stops being demanding, gets scared and finally accepts it without question and just longs to be with the parent. And here its the case of extended childhood state of RK. Ganesha won't come to him...his demands will end...there will be silenc. e still and finally RK will just reclaim his place under his shelter rather than be away from his protector.
by Bhoomi
To me, the greatest tragedy of being RK is not his father's death or the sense of betrayal he feels, but his loneliness. Everyone faces traumatic situations in life, but we deal with it because we have someone to share our feelings with. RK lacks that special someone; it's only just now that he's started to vent to Madhu. @ bold - After some time, even that stops. They'd probably start hating their parents. But hate is a complex emotion in that you still feel for the person. You can't let them go... I don't know at which point a relationship becomes irreparable, but I suspect it's when you don't care anymore. This is what I feel @ atheism as well. The ones who've gotten there through a logical process are often apathetic. The ones who've been hurt/ betrayed, they're conflicted. Now whether they choose to be born again believers or stick with atheism, I believe that conflict should be dealt with first.
by Shridevi
B, agree with you there.
And @ bold. Agree with you. And its sort of fodder I will apply chewing the cud method and will see what I will get out of it.
Thank you for this feed. Excellent !!!!
Episode 4th Oct 2012 : Ongoing Ganesha Track - Author himbin
I liked the way cv's are taking this ganapathi track...Instead of just showing that his faith in God renewed once he falls in Love...they actually have a track to deal with one of RK's demons...a 12 year old's lost trust in his true friend, his Bappa...I just loved the precap scene wherein RK has a one on one confrontation with Bappa and in all his anguish confronts his friend with questions pestering him for years...We all go through similar kind of phases wherein we might question the omniscience and omnipotence of the almighty when we feel that he didn't aid us in our darkest hour... Madhu successfully forced Rishabh to come out and face this pain...
Best scene was the one where RK even after persistant trying was not able to go ahead with the drinking...his inner conscience was not letting him to ignore Bappa...his true friend with whom he has a relationship dil se...and we know RK is one for everlasting relationships... He might be upset but, incapable of severing any relationships...I applaud the creatives for bringing this track dealing with RK's trust issues ahead of the actual falling in love track...Though Love changes the way a person percieves things, it need not be the only way to show how its attained...
Episode 5th Oct 2012 : Confrontation with Bappa
Episode 8th October 2012: Gaurding his Privacy - teaching his wife to stay away from his matters.
Summary of Madhu's forceful attempts to have RK reconcile to Ganesha (Oct 1st to 5th October) and RK's answer to Madhu's coercive tactics (Episode 8th October 2012).
WOW!!!! APPLICATION OF FORCE HAS NEVER WON LOVE or FAITH
Madhu sees that today. Rishabh made her realize that. Good!
Madhu does not relent. She now wants her Bappa to help her in taking RK down.
Bad!!!
Madhu needs to understand that every person has a personal equation with God and that is as private as other precious things of our life. She cannot tresspass that sanctity.
Coming to episode analysis on 8th October...
Finally RK gave everything back to Madhu.
Rishabh had been reticent to some extent allowing his wife to celebrate the festival. He believed she would not bother him and let him be living in his room the way he wants, not celebrating.
He had been in "katti" with his Bappa for years now. Its a relationship turned sour. But there was a rishta quietly and fiercely guarded.
But Madhu had to interfere.
Madhu had to be the religioius extremist. She needs everyone to follow the ritualistic traditions. For her believing in Ganapati is tying the mouli, eating the Modak, participating in aarti, partaking the feast prepared ih Bappa's honour.
Rishabh does not do any of these. So does that make him any less believer ? He had a dialogue with Bappa when no one was around. It was a private one. Some people converse with God in all privacy. He may be angry with Bappa, but when his friend came to stay at his house he allowed him to stay as his other family members wanted him to. He did not let the Akhand Jyoti get extinguished. Small gestures of "atithi Satkaar"
Had Madhu let RK alone, none of the drama would have resulted.
She should not have challenged him to come and partake meals or leave things deliberately in the room. That was a COERCIVE TACTIC. Never helps to gain faith. Instead it serves some of us to become more stubborn.
So RK does the Kabab drama and the chawl drama.
The Biwi does not stop making it public about RK's attempts at saving the flame. With that act she inflames Rishabh to become the bad boy and off he takes her to chawl and does what he has to do...to teach her to stay away from rubbing her UNSOLICITED OPINIONS on HIM
I liked it. I have never liked people being forced to observe rituals. Rituals are just means of expression. And Expression happens in countless ways. So why stick to few types, few imaginations.
The Hindi word of POMP...is AADAMBAR. Could not remember if Rishabh/RK used it or not. But he definitely used Tamasha.
So relieved that finally RK and Rishabh spoke today. It was RK speak in the chawl. But it was actually RISHABH KUNDRA who was enacting all the performance.
Since Rishabh Kundra is already a believer, he doesn't need any chamatkar. Its just the battle of wills. Bappa's event, his giant image is enough to invoke all memories within Rishabh. Its then just a fight between happiness and bitterness that the memories provide. Whichever weighs higher on his emotional scale, he is gonna do that.
Episode 9th October 2012: RK reconciles himself with Ganesha and gets shot
Ganesh visarjan symbolically it meant end of RK. Ganesha is immersed because we create him, we give a form to our God and when it is time to let-go, we immerse him in water so that the clay dissolves and Ganesha once again becomes formless. So is RK by the end of Visarjan is literally on deathbed and also figuratively the man Rishabh Kundra had let go his RKesque image that he extremely loved all these years.
RK's disinvestment in relationships - AUTHOR - Dovesview
Mine -Episode 9th October 2012
Ganesh Chaturthi to Visarjan track is a watershed moment of RK and Madhu's lives.First time it is that RK was not treating Madhu as his game, property or Biwi, or competitor or felt vulnerable before her.First time SOMEONE else became more important than his obsession for Madhu.
It is solely RK's long-due confrontation and make-up with Ganesha. A part of his anger quenched and peace made. RK loses, almost dies, Rishabh and Ganesha win.
It is soley Madhu's testing of her faith in Ganesha and guided through his faith to accept herself as RK's Wife (Dharampatni). Madhu loses all the anger for RK and now just wants RK wake up and fight with her to give her a reason to start fighting against him for a win. She feels lost without RK now and looks to Ganesha.
Dynamics with his Biwi - the three levels
1) The assured RK - Madhu is my game, my property, my Biwi
2) The competitor RK - I have to higher one than Madhu
3) The insecure and deprived RK - External forces conspire against me and make Madhu my saviour
When@ 1, there are beautiful moments between the two for us to enjoy. Very cute moments.
When @ 2, there are hurtful actions from RK and entertaining drama for us. Lot of BBB dialogues from RK. I enjoy that.
When @ 3, there are meaningful and responsible actions from RK towards Madhu and also the society.
Let me talk about 3. meaningful and responsible actions towards Madhu and society.
When Madhu saved him at the studio, he gave 10 minutes of his game for Madhu's family bonding. And why that return ? Coz his mother said that Pagphere ka rasam nibhana hai.
>>>>What does he feel here. Insecure and vulnerable before external forces that are beyond his capacity to control. And who is happy ? Madhu and society.
When Madhu understood him at the studio and saw Rishu. He cut off 10 lacs of his loan to buy his privacy again from her.
>>>>What does he feel ? Insecure and vulnerable that his opponent knows his secret. And who is happy ? Madhu.
Now Madhu has saved his life. We don't know what's gonna happen...That's for us to see.
>>>>but pattern will remain same. Insecure and vulnerable he will feel. And happy are bound to be some.
The Three Important Women in his Life at the moment - as on 10th October 2012
these three women (Radha, Madhu and Padmini) as important women in RK's life.
On surface these three are idiots.
Radha thought if she remarries, Rishu will get a new father, as if FATHER is a commodity. IDIOT number 1. Does she even understand what loving memories can do ? or she just lives in tangible things and doesn't store anything in her brain. So she could erase her first husband's memories, she could erase her child's affection for his father. And same way she erases Bhatia's bad deeds. And same way she erases what RK actually does for her and her family.
She is one brainless idiot.
She is RK's mother. One cannot possibly deny the relationship there. Chaahke bhi na hoga. So RK lives with that truth.
Madhu - thinks she can take down a superstar to support a spineless Mukund who is not even her ANYTHING. I can understand her good deed if Mukku was fighting the case and she was asked to come as a witness and she goes there. So IDIOT number 2. Trishna was 100% right when she blamed Madhu for the mishaps to Shamsher.
And not only that Madhu takes ages to understand Dipali is not good. She takes ages to understand Radha is not hauslon waali Padmini.
The day Madhu shows this sign, I will stop calling her idiot.
She doesn't have any dreams for herself and looks very simple. And I think that naive state calls for RK to compare himself with her and to know why they are different. He had already lot of background information on her, before RK seriously starts contemplating on her. RK is a creation of Rishabh Kundra. So it is his study as how this girl developed herself.
She is the mirror image of Rishu (Rishabh Kundra).
She is a Mama's girl and living by her mom's beliefs and standards. Rishu also was a Tiger for his father and even when growing up as RK, he lives to live his father's dreams.
There is certain kinship feeling here and therefore RK decides to marry her. Because the only logic out of the illogical common girl becoming important part of his life, is then to bow to it and deal with it. ...Fate and Destiny. Else why is his marriage proposal though from RK has words and beliefs of Rishabh Kundra. Why was he waiting the whole night drinking with apprehension if she will accept or not.
Padmini - aimless living. Idiot number 3 Just a mother. Take her two daughters away from her. What is she left with. Questions that she has not answered yet to herself or the society. What does she think of her first husband ? If a monster, why did you not dissolve the marriage. If forever married, living a separate life from husband, after 7 years, the couple if they approach the court, can as well get divorce. Fine she is in hiding. How long will this continue ?
What does she think of Shamsher Malik ? What kind of platonic relationship is that ? Or is it that she is living in Roma's house. Okay, then not her problem. Then why did she allow Madhu to call him a father ? Didn't she , coming from a conservative background know that, that act is like invitation to open pandora's box.
She is what RK is. Aimless living and lot of questions that rather be not answered.
So it is the Son, Rishabh and RK that got binded to these three women.
Madhu and Padmini are already bound. Now that Madhu is bound to Radha, expect more idiocies from them towards RK.
Together these three will make his life a conundrum and RK just enjoys that.
The importance will go away once Rishabh Kundra will realise love in his heart for people around him and stop looking for father figures and mother figures and semblances of family.
For all of this he needs to grow up.
He grew up without love. Now let him grow with lots of idiotic love from these three women. He is bound to go somewhere where he will find his peace.
RK's concept of 4-phera marriage with his Biwi
RK-MB marriage and vows that he took in that 4-phera marriage.
First one ..the actual one Pandit tells him ...I will be forever support you. And he twists it and says in his mind, I promise to isolate you from all the people who will be supporting you.
Second one ...The actual one being ...I will never break your trust. And he twists it and says in his mind, I assure you that I will make everyday of your life a hell.
Third one - actual being ...I promise to be with you in good and bad times. And he twists to mean, cannot know about good times, I promise to fill up your life with unhappiness.
Fourth one - actual being - I promise to treat your parents with respect like mine. And he looks at Bittuji and has the fourth phera cancelled (the actual reason being he doesn't respect his living parents or may be parents is a closed chapter for him).
So in reality, everyone may have assumed he took the first three vows at real. Only him and audience know what he was promising in the first three.
Now at real , he has been following 7 vows
. the first three real ones and twisted ones and the fourth one, since he cancelled it, he takes liberty to humiliate them albeit calls them Sasurji and Saasumaa, in much expressive manner than of addressing his living family.
Isn't this man really complex, interesting and entertaining. We can never know what he can do. But one thing is good about him. When he twists, he keeps loyal to only himself being supportive to her and to be trustworthy to her and not promising too many bad things to her in a curseful manner. He just vows that much which MB is capable of dealing with.
Must say interesting plot and character sketch there from the writers.
Conversation between Leela and myself
Leela,
Now the next part of your post..
>>>>
I wonder what the actual reasoning was for RK's decision to marry Madhu with 100% legality but incomplete rituals, with the marriage promises made only by him and not by her.
100% legality is being pragmatic
Rituals are part of ceremonies - coming out of Dogmas and putting them into practice.
He wanted to inflict every possible misery and ridicule to Madhu. Because she is the one who cares about principles. Their war is over their steadfastness to their dogmatic views.
He used COLD LOGIC.
So if marriage is a societal sanction that allows RK to bind himself to be with Madhu on 24x7 tjme, then let it be the chosen mode to bring them together until they settle score with each other. And interesting the 4 -4 -4 equation was already irritating him.
Pls do note...RK had been logical man until he met the illogical Madhu judged from today's pragmatic standards.
And when actually marrying Madhu, he ensured that had to twist every ritual/vow of the marriage.
So he decides to marry her in that drunk-state. And logically he also followed the Beat the Iron when it is hot. He needed to act quick giving not much time for Madhu to slip.
The marriage vows - Vows not to have a constructive relationship, but a destructive relationship.
Here he keeps aside his logical side, and calls up the Truthful side of his. Whatever the priest asks him to repeat, he actually questions himself, if he really wants to that. And being truthful he expresses all the detrimental promises to the woman he is marrying.
When time comes for the woman to pledge her vows, he doesn't allow her. Because if he allows that Madhu will chant the constructive vows unlike him and he doesn't want that to happen.
>>>Was it really to disrespect her, and leave her in doubts about her actual status as his wife? Why then did he always call her "biwi", leaving no one in any doubt just what her relationship to him was? Wife - nothing less.
Or was it keep her from settling into his life as a complaisant dutiful wife? To keep boundaries drawn to prevent her drawing closer, and making him vulnerable to yet another relationship when every relationship he has ever had has - deliberately or otherwise - betrayed him?
Or to never completely take all the fight out of his opponent?
Yes.
He calls her Biwi in front of everyone...to give her protection to her and respect for his relationship with Madhubala in front of society of which he knows a lot. Because he does play with Society. If earlier, he maligned Madhubala and her family, this time strategy is changed and now he cares for his Name and Status in society and that protection and respect is needed.
Episode 18th October 2012: Trust and Resassurance - Why he is RK ?
Like I was saying to Pippa, today's episode, although if on surface brought back The RK we know and love, today we completely understand why he is THE RK, how he evolved in that manner and why is so different from Rishabh Kundra. We get to know him through the three female characters he gets to interact today.
I would title today's episode as Trust and Reassurance
Trust and Reassurance - Madhubala the fortunate.
She is no longer confident. She cannot trust herself on what she is doing. What seems right seems wrong also. And what is supposed to be wrong is actually correct as well. She doesn't know what has happened to her or what is happening to her. She is yearning to take care of someone whom she should not care for and who would not allow her to take care. She is upset that she is breaching trust on both family side and also hurting the man by she is supposed to hate.
What kind of dilemma is this ?
And so we have the song. It should have been played today instead of yesterday. But no worries, Episodic screenplay may aisa aage -peeche ho jaata hai, with all those ad breaks, precaps and daybreaks.
However, does this dilemma get resolved for Madhu. Through her mother.
She trusts her mother and she is reassured by her mother that what she feels now is not wrong. She reinstates Madhu's shift of RK view as plausible as RK is not the bad man but a good man, which Madhu could see.
What do we have here ? A beautiful scene that makes us happy looking at the confident mother and reassured daughter. Weren't we all happy when Madhu smiled through her tears ? Under these circumstances, how can anyone say, Madhu is not going to remain innocent and good person all her life (assuming Padmini is going to be like this.)
Trust and Reassurance - Rishabh Kundra the Unfortunate.
He needs to know what happened, when he was unconscious there. And who can he turn to ? He tried to check with his wife. Didn't we all listen how he was addressing her as Madhu trusting her completely. His wife was evasive towards his questions, though her exuberant joyful act gave up on her. He is still smarting to know and there comes his ex-love who jilted him in the past, claiming that she saved him and given him his blood. Can he trust her ? No. But who is going to reassure him that what he thinks is right. That Dips cannot be the person who could save him. Enter his mother. Although Rishabh cannot trust her, but he looked at her with the last straw kind of thing and asked her, who gave him blood. The mother is stupefied. And she looks at her DIL as if that DIL is going to come for her rescue. The mother couldn't even look into her son's eyes and refuse to give answer. She had to act dodgy. Rishabh is a person who wants everything in its honesty given back to him straight whether it is to bless him or curse him. Mrs. Bhatia fails miserably to reassure Rishabh on anything.
And there seethes out the RK out of Rishabh Kundra. The RK who is going to protect Rishabh Kundra from people whom he cannot trust and cannot have any kind of assurance of bonding.
His RK act gets him the information he was seeking. I feel for this man. It was painful for me to watch Rishabh Kundra's predicament until this point. I mean how he just has to become a mean person to counter meanness around him without any choice.
Reassurance leading to Trust - between the adversaries RK and Madhubala
Its a very conceited act of RK, which initially the trusting Madhubala doesn't understand and ends up giving away her perturbed expressions at finding out RK-Dips Love story. Is this the man that she knows of him as ? But then, it starts to reassure him that he is on the right track. Then soon the conceited drama hits her and she sees through it to know what RK is upto. A reassured look appears and she watches the rest of the drama unfold. Truth out.
RK and Madhubala come to face each other to address the unsettling question. Why Madhu donated her blood to RK, a person who inflicted worst kind of torments over her soul and family. Do they trust each other while asking and being asked ? Yes, they do. And what do they do ? RK doesn't yell "OUT" likes he yells at Dips and his mother. Madhu musters her courage to speak up what she has to. She answers him back trustingly, "Won't you have done the same if I were in your position ?" and looks for reassurance that she did the right thing. That vulnerable look of Madhu's; wanting to do the right thing for herself; pushes back RK and brings forth Rishabh Kundra again, a man who wants to care for others, who would assure people that he is there for them.
Rishabh Kundra and RK's concerns have always been not get vulnerable before anyone. They can protect others, but cannot seek help from others. But today the question is going even beyond that. Its time for Rishabh to set aside his vulnerability and take care of the question that Madhu asked him mildly in doubt "Won't you have done the same if I were in your position ?" It had not been an easy act for his adversary in showering her kindness, then can he not shower a little understanding on his adversary for the same. Reassurance leading to Trust. Not that they become lovers or something. They are still adversaries but all in faith.
P.S: When a person comes back to consciousness, it really matters for the person to know what transpired when he was zoned out. And this becomes significant for control-freaks like RK or Rishabh Kundra. If one is surrounded by good people around by him/her, the person sets aside the questions for later time even though his mind gnaws to know what happened. This is rarely shown over TV. And in MEIEJ we are seeing it because this is RK who is projected as guy who has his fears and all. But at real, the thing to know is present. First hand example is me.
Episode 19th October 2012 : Shamsher Malik wants to kill RK
It was not a beautiful episode which I wanna watch again. It was just the needed move to the next track. Shamsher Malik Vs RK. My title for the new track will be .. I don't have any... But I need to understand Shamsher Malik today, who was never important for me in the story until today when I saw Rishabh and Madhubala Kundra together were fighting against him, foiling his attempt to kill RK.
I am certainly not sure what CVs have in their mind when turning Shamsher Malik into a killer. Seriously a killer ?
Where is all this going to ? I am not going into the very much mundane analysis of the obvious...the impact of this on Madhubala when the two most important men in her life are pitted against each other. For now the reality for her through the viewer eyes is this:
One is saving the other though he was the cause for the other's dying
One is killing the other because he was the cause for his ruin.
RK's treatment No.1 of Shamsher - Fair and Square
Beat him enough that he is unable to get up and yet cannot die . Then leave him to die. Who does that ? What triggers that ? Shamsher tried to assault him. And the way he could beat up all the security around RK, Shamsher was very much in for brutal vendetta.
RK's treatment No.2 of Shamsher - as a Pawn
Use him and his situation to get even with his so-called daughter Madhubala. Mind it the pawn was not important, it was the prize that was coveted by RK.
RK's treatment No.3 of Shamsher - Taking care of Sasurji
Somewhere down the line, RK had accepted that Madhubala is his wife, then it becomes fair and reasonable to take care of his Sasurji. How is that any different from him taking care of the Bhatias ? Not much. isn't it ?
Shamsher's treatment No.1 of RK - before his vegetable State
You ruined our lives. You finished us. I will finish you.
Shamsher's treatment No.2 of RK - after he comes out of his vegetable state.
You ruined our lives. You finished us. I will finish you.
Isn't it strange that Shamsher seems to have been in a frozen state with only one thought "I want to finish you" ? Is there something more to it ? Something more than just finishing RK ? Ofcourse, the CVs are not going to go so deep as me...but then I would like to know what makes a man lose his reason and take Godly matters into their hands.
What makes RK lose his reason and take Godly matter of teaching Madhubala into his hands. He is self-professed diabolical man and he has every right to do it. Agree! we have seen that.
What makes Shamsher lose his reason and take Godly matters such as killing a monster into his hands. He is a hero, a knight in shining armor and has to do something to save the honour of the people depending on him. Hmmm! I can see that.
Now can I have the title ? The Knight in the shining armor versus the Monster
Whether RK is a monster or not. We have analysed a lot. We know what he is.
Is Shamsher truly a hero ? Truly a knight in shining armor ?
He saved Padmini and her daughters once when Balraj the monster was there to kill them. A black and white act of the hero versus the villain which Shamsher got to play at real when he had been playing the same act in make-believe world of cinema as the stunts-man. Playing with weaponry, those fights are part of his every day life. And the same he could use as his skills to save the women in trouble in real life.
What was he actually before he became the hero for the three women?
An actor who left his native place in Punjab, came to Mumbai with dreams of becoming a hero on the celluloid. He couldn't be successful. He just ended up being a stuntsman. Not even earned a chance to act as a villain. Did it hit him hard when RK taunted, "Sasurji aapko to villain hona chaahiye tha filmon mein ?" Could be !
Somewhere between the failed attempts at becoming the hero, he had his peace with becoming the hero to the three women. And he truly revelled in this role-play of his. A savior.
And when he fails to save the second time, what kicks into his thinking once he gets back his consciousness.
zang lage auzaar, dawaiyon ka gulaam, kamzor shamsher lad raha hai, kamzor baap lad raha hai
So that is our Shamsher. He is seeing himself as a failure and it gets magnified when he is pitted against a man who is a HERO on the celluloid which used to be his dream, which now is the dream passed on towards his elder daughter. Projections of his sister and his dreams on Trishna...to turn her into a reel life heroine.
What was he citing his reasons to hate RK?
Beti ki sagaai tod di
badi beti ke sapno ko apne mehenge jooton ke tale pees pees ke phaila diya
choti beti ko bandhua biwi bana ke rakha hua hai
Just as the woman (Padmini) he saved, lives in her idyllic world, so is Shamsher Malik who refuses to let go of the dreamy world which talks about fair men standing against evil men and Hero needs to vanquish the Villain.
Just like RK, Shamsher doesn't carry any reason on his head when he tries to become the killer. He has to be the story-book hero. However that was the first time. He definitely was the hero when he barged into the studio in broad day-light and confronted RK.
But the second time around, may be the thought is there to be the hero, but his act is not of the knight in shining armor. Or is there you think ? Why the attacks in a masked manner ? Because the opponent is all too powerful ?
Whatever...But did he see that his daughter, whose honor he was trying to save was actually fighting to save his opponent. Does it sound wierd to him ? Of course it does. Hence these words
Jaane usne kya jaado kiya hai
Woh jiye mare kuch phark nahin padta
Mujhe sirf apne bachchon ki parwaah hai, jo is samay bikhri hui hai, jo sirf main sametna chaahta hoon
Coz once he is able to finish the monster, his daughter will be free from the magical cage that has totally changed her beyond his recognition.
Well that was our dreamy Real life Hero Shamsher Malik against the Reel life hero RK.
What an irony that Real life hero act is so unreasonable when viewed from prevailing laws of human society, as seen in conventional ethics. Knights do not exist. One doesn't take law into their hands. Shamsher cannot think beyond this and perhaps that is the reason, it never occurred to him that his stay-put hero-act is not actually sanctioned by society which RK so easily ridicules him for. He takes care of a woman that is not his wife and raises two girls like his own daughters. Does Shamsher understand the ignominy that Padmini and his daughters may have gone through in their life on account of his knight status ?
What an irony that the RK who is a monster actually in real life takes heed of societal laws and does not kill Shamsher and when decides to destroy the woman, he provides her with a dignified status sanctioned by society. He makes her his wife. RK taunts Shamsher ''Aapki naajayez beti to Jaayez Biwi banaya hai maine" Does that hurt Shamsher in any manner ?
We all know why RK is a Reel hero. Because in real life he could not be a hero to his father..
I am caught in this uninteresting situation, forced to watch the two men. Until the two men understand each other, that they are mirror images of each other, that they both are the heroes in real life as well, they are not going to be at peace. Each needs to know the story of the other. Another epic story there. Can Madhubala please build a bridge between the two to end the vendetta ? Please ...
Episode 114 - 31st Oct 2012
Ignoring the Occam's Razor's principle.
Why is it difficult to understand RK ? Everyone seems to ponder.
And what an irony it is that those people who want to know him so much, when he explains him in simple words, people say "Apni Bakwaas Band karo!" Why would they want to look for other explanations.
Today Shamsher does that at one time. It was pathetic how Shamsher decided to just ignore what RK was saying about him respecting his actions as he understands a father's emotions. That Shamsher then had to be pulled back from his flying horses when RK recedes back to employ his histrionics and show him, if in all of this vendetta, does he actually think what his daughter would have to say for his actions. We have been all along saying this that Shamsher has lost it. So finally one human contact with his mind and actions has made him see sanity. Once I compared Shamsher to Raskolnikov. The act pleases him more than the consequences. That's what happened today. Shamsher suddenly realized what all of this means and where it was leading to.
Today Madhu too decided to look beyond RK simple explanation as that answer was not serving the purpose of her curiosity. Then why does she ask a rhetorical question, instead of direct one? That takes me back to Radhaji, who is so happy to misunderstand her son.
We may not have liked that from Madhu, but Madhu was being herself. All in her character. When has she ever analysed anything like RK. She has always jumped to conclusions. LIke Leela says, so happy with her vain trait of being self-righteous. She would have really taken the fight to a dirty slandering fight, but RK bestows the dignity to it by cutting her in the middle and giving her anger a proper direction and making her ask the right question to him.
Of course RK wanted the fight to happen in a proper manner, because, wasn't he thinking about her a few minutes back when she brought him his food. All it takes to understand another person is to be receptive to information and letting go of our assumptions. RK was doing that. He understood Shamsher's anger and obsession. And continuing on the same he tries to understand Madhu and her limits unto obsession for sacrificing her life to save her adopted father. RK remembers Madhu's facts about her real father. This is his way of looking at Madhu's emotions.
