Dipali Track - 24th to 18th October 2012
Post Stranded at the Studio track, we have Dipali Track that aids Rishbala to honour their marriage. She was supposed to be a catalyst for RK and MB to come closer. And that has happened. Rishbala now not only share the room together, they share the bed too with the pillows as the divider. RK upheld his 4-phera marriage with MB and vowed that he will never forget honouring her as his wife. Likewise MB too declared to Dipzy, she will fulfil all the responsibilies of being RK's Dharam-patni even if it was the 4-phera marriage.
Further Dipzy's endevors to separate the duo worked contrarily, with RK and MB accepting what they are to each other and to Dipzy and how they will not allow a third person to come in between them. Trust on each other leads them to share a comfort level with each other that allows them to have small talks, smile and take liberties with each other to care for the other in the manner they want to. Be it RK holding her leg or calling her to bed or MB indulging in wifey-talk of wanting to know the color preference or asking hubby when he is gonna tie the mauli, or both refusing to answer each other's questions without cudgels in their hands to blow each others brains.
What was interesting for me to watch in these weeks was MB smiling for the first time in front of RK and happily smiling at him behind his back. What was even more interesting was the title track of MEIEJ played when they were having these cute moments. Yes, if people have noticed, it is the song from Chalti ka Naam Gaadi picturized on Actress Madhubala and sung by Kishore Kumar.

RK-Dips-Madhu ka Break-up
Finally I hope..we will have the much needed break up between the three regarding seeing them together in same quarters. RK quarters was getting to be habitated by RK and his two women...one a 4-phera Biwi and other Ex-mehbooba. All three hinged together.
Today too in the ending scene..Madhu the wife was walking away from the room, RK the husband was at the threshold of the room and Dipali inside the quarters, just like the time when RK brought Biwi to his quarters when Dipali wanted to spend the night with him in his room, adorning it with all candles, right under the nose of her husband Sikky, who still was inhabiting RK mansion.
- Only RK was clear that who gets to stay in his quarters. He asked his Biwi to stay there and he always used to ask Dipali to get out.
- But Shameless Dipali always used to barge in anytime of the day or night...even when husband and wife were in bed on their first day. Even Patranis or concubines have their own rooms. But never I could believe my eyes that this woman gets away by coming into his room...and shameless she and the inmates of RK...no one wonders or asks what the Bhabhi has to do in the Dewar's room.
- And Madhu the wife when not in love, would just let her aadha adhoora pati to have all conversations with this woman, she would wear her saree when she knew her husband would not like her wearing his ex-flame's saree and she wouldn't even remove that saree when RK asks her to. And when later she fell in love with her husband, even then she was telling RK to treat Dipali with respect and not shoo her away.

Today Dipali is staying with me. Initially I did not want to let her linger longer but muze uspar taras aya. Thinking aloud here, Dipali is an intelligent woman with sharp mind, worldly wise and can hold on her own. Today I feel we should not hate her but take pity on her. A woman who let her mind rule her heart in every decision in her life. For all her wittiness and smartness, she has forgotten a simple fact that in the matters of love one should let one's heart rule and let the head take a backseat (easier said than done).
She was not ready to do that 5 years ago and that cost her RK. Aaj kya hai use paas? Who is in her camp rooting for her? Not even her husband. She stands all alone. Her facade of bravado is borrowed one and she knows that sand under her feet is sinking quickly.
In comparison I think Madhu is standing on the solid ground. She knows and follows the principle ke rishte dil se judte hein dimag se nahin. She is surrounded by love from every where you look. She will deal with this setback with the help of her Ma and Malik if it comes to that but she is not alone. She never was. Even before she was born. How lucky and blessed can one get? I totally envy you Madhu!!!
Can we say the same for Dipali? No!!! I do hope though that somewhere down the line in her life she does find her own salvation.
Can we say Amen to that?

I liked it today that RK told us out what he likes in Dips and how he will miss her.
So RK was attracted to Dipali's intelligent mind...the mind games she can induce when she talks in innuendos with a certain classy sense of humour of hers.
So this goes with RK's character...when him had not much to lose or gain...he was attracted to craziness, challenges etc. In very recent times, we have seen him getting attracted to Balraj's crazy but smart ambulance idea ...only to knock senses to his mind...what is he doing with that crazy guy...Its a separate thing how Balraj makes RK get committed to him.
Satisfaction to brain/mind is one important aspect of our overall happiness...without which, we can go crazy or depressed.
So RK likes anything that has a bit of game in it. This is consistent with character trait. I made a long post on my apprehensions about RK's character on this trait and now that he loves Madhu, he needs to curb his desires for gaming. This was on episode where Balraj made his re-entry.

Liked your take on Dipali-RK situation. I agree that when Dipali came into the room, instead of driving her out, he drew her into situation of matching wits. All said and done, she is the only one so far who he can interact with on an intelligent level however good or bad. Given that RK is an intelligent man, he needs that outlet somewhere. His innocent bacchi jaisi biwi is no match for him in this. I am not saying what he is doing is good. I think he just could not resist it, got overconfident and went too far.

@Shri - ITA with you on the relationship that RK and Dips might have shared and what might have attracted her to him. She is definitely the one person who can match up to his wits and that clearly might have been one of the reasons why he was attracted to her in the first place five years ago. Madhu is a peson who is very young, naive and innocent coming from a lower middle class family and does not have the knowledge of worldly ways. Her character is in stark contrast to Dipali who is mentally sharp and resourceful in a twisted way and knows how to inflict emotional pain and distress with her acerbic tongue. In a way, RK is or was somewhat similar like Dips prior to falling in love with Madhu who is from a totally different background but her simplicity, honesty and integrity is what attracted him to her and after today Dips will come to know that what she thought would attract RK to her and keep him from going back to Madhu is no longer the case and he would do anything to get Madhu and win her trust back. It is going to be a tough job for RK because whatever seeds of doubt that Dips sowed about Madhu is cleared from his mind but instead it is now sowed in Madhu's mind who is probably going through the same emotions and feelings of hurt (even more if you ask me because she did not restrain herself from completely giving herself up for him, the girl was truly latoo over him) that RK went through when she did not respond to his question of leaving everyone behind immediately. We saw the level of hurt he was experiencing when he did not even give her a chance to answer him but in Madhu's case, the hurt, the pain, and the anger is twinfold because she sees him first hand thanking Dips for challenging him and asking him to test her which proved that he was right all along.

Imagine RK in those days, arrogant, talented, intelligent (creative artists are arrogant in their own talent, they don't necessarily need success to become arrogant)...a rebel without a cause,(or so we're meant to think for now, I still feel there's more to explore) imagine his relationship with Radha, Kukku, Sikky, what a life at home.

iMagine a much younger RK and Dipali, both strugglers in the film industry...that struggle itself is one strong bond, then they fell in love. Whether Dipali was in love is suspect, but RK was in love, or so he thought. What does he get attracted to...intelligent banter, good looks, he gets turned on by a takkar ki ladki, which Dipali is, and must have been even then.
By virtue of being in a relationship, Dipali knows RK and Rishabh, very well, and she must have constantly played one against the other even 5 years ago. And RK must have revelled in it, maybe we can attribute it to his age, when you're young, there's always a certain image you want to portray to your peers, and RK must have been fun to play.
In reality, while Dipali is attracted to RK, she does'nt respect Rishabh the softie. Which is why she ditches him. Even today, she is always taunting Rishabh. She miscalculated, married Sikky. Rishabh closes himself to hurt, and becomes RK in full strenght.
Did I make sense??? This is me making up my own prequel story.
Over Episode 168 - January 2013- RK-Dipali Equation Fixing Track
I always wanted Dipali to be kicked out from RK's life with his fights with her ...with Madhu present there watching both of them in RK Mansion...because RK did not get the chance to fight with Dips with her becoming his Bhabi and him forcefully required to be gentleman and avoid all such talks at his home. He was able to fight Dipali regarding his success in his acting career where he succeeded and she failed, when she abandoned him for her career. Personal jilt in love was never addressed by RK, because he was busy becoming successful in career and moreover, she later became his Bhabhi, officially closing the venue for them to talk/fight.
Now this bitter fight with Dipali in present times after Madhu's entry into his life, is allowing him to not to get into a tight spot with family and his Biwi being actually to be a witness to everyone that ...RK has not taken advantage of his Bhabhi's honour...if Dipali tries to slander RK as if he was seducing her etc...
This track is all about RK's washing off his hands with Dipali forever. Because every love affair needs to have exit fights as well. And with his repeated fights with Dipali is making him lose his anger with Dipali for having jilted him in love.
And today even if Dips is smirking at Madhu being so shocked and hurt, what she is not understanding is she has lost it permanently with RK. Because now RK is going to run after Madhu to win her back and not turn to Dipali like she may be dreaming.
Remember that movie...Julia Roberts one...My Best Friends Wedding...how Rupert Everett asks Julia...look behind you...is anyone running after you ?
Ofcourse Dips is more evil than Julia Roberts and she played a better psychological game with RK in her revenge plan ...but inadvertantly she showed RK what is more precious to him...his love for Madhu and her respect and honour in tact, her view about him or his anger and insecurities for all NON-MADHU items in his life.
So peeps, be happy...Dipali -RK Equation is NOW OFFICIALLY FINISHED !!

The way I see it Dips is a very complicated problem and regardless of what RK/Madhu does she gains. She is aware of that very fact and hence she keeps taking her shamelessness up a notch every single time.
Let us look at the current family equation- Rk does not get along with rest of his family and insults them on a regular basis. Radha does not know or trust her son to a point that she is able to believe every single thing that Dips and Bhatias feed her. She is depending on Madhu to singlehandedly mend that relation but given her weak personality it would not take much for her to become against Madhu specifically if she thinks that Madhu is taking RK away from the family. RK in general is considered a very vindictive and unpredictable personality. His panache for playing mind games and destroying his opponent is well known. In truth RK is a gentleman with immense emotional maturity however his past failures in relationships which he terms as betrayals are his weakness and nemensis. He genuinely wants to move on with Madhu and not cause any angst either to Radha or Bhatias. He wants to forget but not forgive. Madhu is just beginning to know RK, however she is fiercely fillial and righteous and seems to ignore the deep emotional undercurrents. She is quick to judge and believe partly because of her sheltered life until now. Dips is established as good elder daughter-in-law in the household and seems to have influence over Radha. No one seems to be aware of Dips-RK connection from past.
It also seems that Dips is tired of Sikky and wants to get rid of him and pursue RK. Sikky seems to be invested in the relationship though and no one is aware of discord between the couple.
So let us see what Rishbala can do
1)RK can routinely insult Dips and ban her from entering his room-He does that in every episode but Dips is shameless enough to pursue him still. The rest of the family turns a blind eye to his reaction because they think he does that as is his habit with rest of the family. Radha actually lets Dips pursue RK because she thinks that Dips is being a good elder daughter-in-law and is trying to draw RK in family circle despite all the insults. She also thinks that RK might be more responsive to Dips than Radha since he holds no personal grudge gainst Dips. If Madhu gets in this picture- Dips is going to cry foul and blame her for distancing RK from rest of the family. Given how much control she has over Radha, it could create a rift between Radha and Madhu relationship.
2)RK reveals all - To begin with this goes against the grain of his character as this is equivalent of kiss and tell. What does that do? Dips admits and than blames RK for seducing her . With the sort of vindictive image RK has, who is going to believe him that Dips is the shameless one. It breaks Dips-Sikki marraige leaving her to to chase not only a huge divorce settlement but also pursue RK more openly. The issue creates further rift between Bhatias and RK - Radha ends up in an impossible situation where she will end up taking Kuku Bhatia's side. If the news becomes public(Sikki's way of getting back at RK)- Rk is caught in a scandal which might impact his career, Madhu and Maliks are embarrased and pitied, Dips gets get moment in spotlight and an opportunity to jumpstart her career. In all everyone except Dips loses.
3)They can move out- That is exactly what RK is planning on doing. He wants to move out and kill the reason Dip pursues him-his success. But this is a time taking process specifically with the promise he had made to Madhu.
While writers have used Dips as devil on RK's shoulder and Seema Mishra has done an amazing job with her character yet something seems missing. Why has Dips has stepped up pursuing RK so badly now after 5 long years? what does she intend to achieve? She clearly does not want him to believe in love so she is not shooting for a love relationship. Here are couple of choices-
1)She did indeed care for him and wants him back since she never got over him.
2) He is sucessfull and hence a big catch with huge purse
3) She is jealous of Madhu and her influence on RK.
4)She is unable to forgive RK for falling in love and being happy with Madhu, a chawl girl while she the sophisticate has to carry on a sham of a marraige with wimpy Sikki. The idea being if I can't have him no one can.
5)She had always believed that RK would be open to a extramarital affair and would shower her with his love and money even if she was his sister-in-law. If not for love then just to stick it to the Bhatias.
6)She is a sadist who enjoys the gloom and misery around her .She tends to use the sorrow and chaos to increase her power and get her will done.

Dipali was the worst character and track introduced by CVs to create drama. Seema Mishra must have impressed people with her acting, but her character to the story was plain disgusting and an unfathomable CLUNK to the Story. Because she rendered Rishabh Kundra the socially married person to an almost NAKAARA Napunsak, who couldn't keep the woman away from his quarters. She also rendered Madhu, the wife in love/devotion letting the woman roam around in their quarters freely as if none of it bothers her. Can any woman believe this ? I mean simple question is Ek Mayaan mein Do Talwaaren Kaisi ? Why Madhu would never understand this ?
No matter, how much interesting drama Dipali must have generated, but all of it was PLAIN CLUNK.

Please do register this feedback on permanent basis in your book and you RETIRE DIPALI. We don't need a character that just is clunky device. Treat this as a disapprobation for turning a husband and wife into Napunsaks at having been unable to stop her barging into their quarters any time. No amount of RK insecurities and Madhu innocence will actually allow me to overlook the fundamental CLUNK present in the story through Dipali. At real, I don't know how many husbands and wives could tolerate this drama.

Yesterday, in that scene, RK was taunting Dipali that she was a loser on all fronts and has nothing but to crave and wait for her dream life. And he was talking about his success and indirectly her failures. But still, the woman was highly shameless, that she made a move on him provocatively when she was pinned to the wall.It was disgusting. And RK just shirked back and moved away from her...
So even yesterday, despite RK supposedly having the upperhand and he having hit her weak nerve, was still getting bullied.. The CV's need to make RK stronger than her and not cower down in front of her. He needs to stop getting bullied. It's a hit to his manhood in the first place and no man would entertain such things, however insecure they are... Secondly, thisdoesn't go down well with his powerful persona too.. You don't expect a person like him to let someone , (that someone ditched him for godsake), daunt him.. You're supposed to be vengeful and it has to be shown in his acts.. Ok she might be his bhabhi and for the supposed betterment of his family, he is keeping shut, but still there would be other ways to keep her in check...In the beginning ,I used to think, prolly, he doesn't want to waste his time and energy, as it's completely useless and this woman is going to remain shameless.
But from the time of Dipali's entry till now, her audacity and shamelessness has only increased(even in front of the family, during the daal-chawal nautanki of his or at the time when the jasoos told that she was found in RK's room before this guy fled off to Karjat or when Radha entered the room and RK was shirtless and she said, came to give him milk,mads hadn't even shifted to his room then.. It was abhorring for me!!! Is the family dumb? ) and RK is just being pathetic by being a weakling in front of her.. There has to be growth in RK's character on this front...They can't butcher his character by making Dipali stronger and stronger and him weaker and weaker...
I rest my case here...
P.S: I needed to get this out of my system.. This has been plaguing my mind since y'day night..

Re ur post on deepali character plot clunk post, i totally agree. Deepali is truly a pathetic woman.shameless beyond my imagination. I hv always been surprised and angry at RK for not being able to deal with the 'seductress' deepali, n dis goes bk to the day her character ws introduced. She comes n blabbers all nonsense to him abt der passionate nights in d past n he is tongue tied. Why cnt he tell her off? N den wen she decorates his room to create romantic ambience (wat woman wud to dat under her husbands n MILs nose? Pathetic), he has to use madhu to dispense deepali by bringing her to his room. I did not like dat at all. How was he dealing wid her before madhu came into his house? All these 5 years, she hs been lurking around his room hoping tht he wud give in?
